InFlowing the 2nd

This Box was BEAUTIFUL... a requested re-make of the original InFlowing piece I did in 2003. The box is always cause for conversation- it's a very unique design.
InFlowing the 2nd is made using solid Mecassar Ebony, and Quilted Maple, with Ivory accents. It wasn't so much of a Brain Teaser- the 2nd time around... and came together beautifully. I guess that old saying "practice makes perfect" is worth keeping in mind! I'm thinking of doing yet another piece using this design- but funking it up a bit... that's always fun.
InFlowing the 2nd is finished with a Hardened Tung Oil, then buffed and Canauba waxed to a natural hand rubbed sheen. I used my favorite high quality- solid brass hinges which are finished with a gold tinted lacquer for lasting beauty, and have a 110 degree stop. These hinges have become my favorite- asthetically and functionally- they are great. I am looking into having stainless steel ones made if possible?

This Piece is marked for authenticity with my hand carved genuine Ebony and Ivory Woodworks Logo.
I look forward to adding another of these beautiful heirloom quality boxes to the mix- so check back in periodically for an InFlowing the 3rd... and hopefully with stainless steel hardware! (2006)
