What can I say... Sometimes you gotta let your brain do what it's gotta do!
This box is so absolutely stunning... it's actually going to be hard to part with! Everything about this piece just screams for attention! It catches my attention... and I made it! I know every nook and cranny of it... you have to wonder what I could possibly have left to look at?
This is another one of those most enjoyable brain teasers. It is made from a nicely united aray of solid exotic hardwoods - African Ebony, Osage Orange, Curly Purple Heart, Bloodwood, and Tulip Wood. Over 60 seperate pieces of wood make this awe inspiring pattern. It took over 35 glueing operations just to make the final "pieces" for this box. Then I could begin the assembling and carving. It is invisibly hinged, so the lid fits snugly and seamlessly. Because of the style and function of this piece I have applied a Polymerized Tung Oil Finish which seals and protects the hardwoods, and produces a beautiful glasslike natural luster.
UnitedColours is inlaid with my genuine hand carved Ebony and Ivory Woodworks logo for authenticity. Everything on a piece like this is crucial... it's just such a joy from beginning to end. I love being able to be a bit funky with my pieces... and still have them look very stylish, and elegant. I will honestly envy whoever ends up with this luxerious Box! It is Gorgeous!
